Students from all around the world arrive at Eaglebrook as they begin their long journey ahead. Some students are returners and others are wholly new. With the hopes of enhancing both their academic and extracurricular skills, or even making fun memories with friends, they will all try their utmost to join and help out the Eaglebrook community. To repay students for their hard work, Eaglebrook provides time to students to reconnect with family and friends through a prolonged annual tradition: The Country Fair.

The Country Fair serves the purpose of giving some leisure time to students as well as building unforgettable memories for students with their parents and friends. Therefore, even before the official fair starts, students and their advisors meet together as a team to cook up the most interesting concessions.

The students concoct ideas, build out the plans, and design posters to advertise these fascinating concessions. When Friday arrives, students wait inside the Assembly Area to listen to the President of the Student Council, Harry Kim ’24, give his assembly before greeting their parents. After the Morning Assembly, students and their parents reconnect during the first morning classes. Parents attend all seven classes alongside their children and sometimes participate in discussions. After the bustling classes and lively lunch in the dining hall, the Country Fair event embarks on the Memorial Field. I hope to see some unique and captivating concessions with alumni, friends, faculty, and family enjoying the school fair! Finally, the day ends with beautiful music performances presented by chorus, piano, orchestra, and band members.

Country Fair is Eaglebrook’s most engaging and loving tradition that has been celebrated for more than 80 years. It is always amazing to see the students’ smiles and positivity during the Country Fair weeks. Let’s enjoy it!
