Country Fair 2023: Fall Golf

Fall Golf, a newer sports opportunity at Eaglebrook in the fall, is often left out of the conversation, but my teammates and I enjoy it. Whether it is a match at the course or a day of practicing in the simulator, there is always fun when it comes to Fall Golf. It is competitive but relaxed and fun at the same time.
People are often unaware of what usually happens in the simulator, as many have never been inside it. A typical day starts at 3:05 pm when people start arriving at the gym, where the simulator is. As you walk in, you see people talking, laughing, and warming up for practice. At 3:15 p.m., Mr. Bourdon or Mr. Bogel chooses a course and usually picks teams of two. The teams hit their first shots, which either results in applause or laughter. After this, teams go back and forth until 4:30 pm when we finish a hole, and the team in first place wins.
If it is a day at the actual course, how- ever, things can be very different. When the bell rings at the end of the class day, our team runs down to the locker rooms to change into golf shirts, shorts, and throw our bags into the van where coach Bourdon is waiting. Once we get to the course, we get out and get over to the tee box, where the first group tees off. There are two or three groups that go out to play nine holes. At the end of the round, people count up their scores and talk about them on the way back. Lastly, we have matches: the inaugural match being Friday, September 29 at Crumpin Fox against Frontier Regional. The team is excited as we get prepared for Friday.
The Fall Golf team is coached by Mr. AJ Bourdon and Mr. Alex Bogel. The team roster is as follows: Julien Berube ’25, Drew Borggaard ’24, Dominic Coccia ’25, Drew Davine ’25, Zach Davine ’25, Will Neves ’24, Sean Noh ’25, Jackson Sheehy ’25, Bear Sventy ’26, and Mat- thew Yoon ’25.
