This fall, three unique and exciting productions are to be performed on the Percival Stage. The most intriguing aspect of these plays, however, lies not in their plot but in their conception. All three of these plays were originally written using ChatGPT, an AI program, after being given prompts by the students. The shows were then edited by Mr. Keyes, our Theater Coordinator, to better suit the cast members and resolve errors.

Mascot Therapy is a show starring Vincent Jie ’24, Alex Wang ’25, and Lewin Kasser ’25. In the play, two football mascots work together with a counselor to resolve their relationship issues. However, the two continually quarrel over which of their teams is superior.

Firefighting Fiasco is a play performed by Tomas Tejapaibul ’24, Carter Labrie ’24, and Johnny Chen ’27. In it, two firefighters, Marshall and Gary, are at the scene of a fire, yet Marshall’s son, Dylan, is also present. His running amok causes issues among the firefighters and chaos ensues.

The Promotion Toast is the final show, which includes Ryan Chen ’24, Peter Lakey ’24, Ze Kai Zhang ’24, Nolan Yellin ’24, and Eric Sim ’24. The performance revolves around a group of coworkers trying to celebrate a colleague’s promotion yet being hindered constantly by their own tomfoolery.
