The Eaglebrook Thirds basketball team is going to have a game, with an exciting new team. Currently the Basketball Thirds team consists of Duncan Bedell, Allen Chen, Ryan Han, Ryan Kang, Ali Liddle, Beckett Long, Daniel Park, Jason Sim, Henry Stevenson, Oscar Wang, Alex Xi, and Max Yao. The Thirds basketball team is led by Ms. Inch, Ms. Thompson, and the head coach Mr. Huang. The Thirds basketball team looks forward to a game filled season preparing for their first game with Cardigan. The game will be on a traditionalized day known as “Cardigan Day” for the Eaglebrook students and faculty. This event is where most Eaglebrook athletic teams will have a game against our rivals, the Cardigan Cougars. The game is planned to be on Saturday, January thirteenth. The time of the game will be 6:30pm for the Thirds basketball players. The game will be a home game right on the Eaglebrook court. This year the Thirds basketball team has practices everyday preparing for their games, Mr. Huang creates great lesson plans ensuring progress is made within the team as he receives help from Ms. Inch and Ms. Thompson. He is also able to match the positions and plays with the players making a comfortable and exciting practice for the players. Practice starts with a basic stretch and run ensuring no injuries and to get the blood moving. We then move onto the fundamentals such as layups or shooting. The coaches also combine other mechanics such as rebounding to the basic drills. After the drills we move to plays making sure we can run them smoothly during games. After we are all done with these drills we gather up as a team and we go over a run through over the day’s practice. We also go over positive comments and notices for improvement. Finally we talk about future events and notices, then we do a team shout. We then end practice on a positive note. These are the third’s practices, routines, and other notices.
