At Winter Carnival, three novel productions are performed on the Percival Stage. Directed by Mr. Keyes, the performances consist of two monologues and a play. The three plays are Rosa’s Eulogy, Ernesto the Magnificent, and You’re Hired!. The cast is always exceptionally talented and features actors with a wide range of experience. The plays explore daring new concepts, such as interaction with the audience, to create an enjoyable and funny experience for the audience. The cast has regularly rehearsed and worked very hard to deliver a thoroughly thrilling show.

Rosa’s Eulogy is the first monologue. Starring Carter Labrie ’24, the plot revolves around Jeanne as she stumbles on a dead cat, which she named Rosa, in the street. Distraught, she sets up a makeshift funeral service, where she mourns and curses Rosa’s killer. All seems well until she makes a grotesque realization about the true identity of the cat.

Ernesto the Magnificent is the second monologue. Performed by Tomas Tejapaibul ’24, the production follows Ernesto, a failed fire-eater, as he attempts a performance of sword-eating. However, his inexperience and apprehension humorously prevent him from succeeding. He delivers a dramatic spiel about his childhood and eventually reaches an epiphany.

You’re Hired! is the final production and includes Peter Lakey ’24, Chris Lee ’26, Vincent Jie ’24, Alex Wang ’25, Rowan Muzzy ’25, and Eason Xu ’26. The story follows Dale and Teresa, interviewers for a prospective position at a bank, as they search for a competent candidate. Among the interviewees are an escaped convict, conjoined twins, and many more. Despite their best efforts, however, each applicant only seems to get more bizarre as the interviews continue.
